I love photographing families in their homes – seems to help relax everyone and makes for beautiful, authentic images. Little miss Frankie showed me around… Christmas tree, stockings, her lovely nursery, and the snowy balcony. The cutest hostess ever. Words cannot even express how adorable and sweet Frankie is. I could have photographed her and those beautiful blue eyes all day long.

Meet Patrick. He showed me around his cute nursery and then took me on a little outdoor adventure at the grounds of the Lincoln Park Conservatory. How can I not love a job that allows me to get outside and enjoy these beautiful sunny days we’ve been having, while hanging out with some of the cutest kids and nicest families around?!

I met up with Nicole at Humboldt Park last week for an OpLove session with daughter Jessica. We embraced the beautiful sunshine and scenery and ended up with some great images to send to Dad to enjoy while he’s deployed overseas. It was a joy to work with Nicole & Jessica and an honor to give a tiny bit back to this family (: I’ll be putting more from this session on the city|view Facebook page later today.

I love when a family session turns into a FAMILY session, complete with cousins and aunts and playing in the lake. Ruby set up this session with her family and her siblings’ families for an early morning at North Avenue Beach. I think we all had a good time (:

Weekend + summer + early morning walk + lovely Chicago neighborhood + beautiful family. There you have it. My secret equation for fun family photos. Shhhh… don’t tell anyone. A quick little peak at this family session before I am on hiatus for the next two weeks!! You probably don’t recognize these cuties from their previous session – they have grown up so much in the last two years!

I might post from my secret hideaway, but then again I might not. That’s what vacation is about, right?

Seriously. How could you not fall in love with that face?! Although Ryan never quite warmed up to the strange lady with the camera (me!), I think by the end of the session we had reached an unspoken agreement. Meaning he would continue to be cute and occasionally look in my direction if I promised to hurry. Haha! Oh, and there can’t be a post about Ryan without mentioning how much he loves his basketball. I wonder how he feels about Lebron going to Miami?

Happy Friday, everyone! I’m photographing two kiddos this weekend. Next week J’s sister and her family are coming to visit!! And then I’m off on vacation!! I LOVE summer (:

You may remember Siena from her previous sessions. I know, she somehow just manages to get cuter and cuter as the months go by, and I am honored to document her cuteness (while trying in vain to teach her to say “Anna”). For Siena’s one year pictures, I was lucky enough to get to spend a morning with her family downtown in the Loop… aren’t you jealous? We had thick, dark clouds for the entire session but I think we managed pretty well, don’t you?

Isn’t Bode the sweetest? I think he was both fascinated by, and wary of, the strange lady with the big camera following him around (who wouldn’t be, right?). We had a good time a couple of weekends ago exploring a beautiful nearby garden where Bode proceeded to be the cutest kid in the neighborhood. I think by now he’s a big brother, so that’s a title he’ll likely be sharing with his new little brother or sister.

Coming up next… more toddlers and babies!! Plus travel photos from Death Valley National Park in California, and Starved Rock State Park in Illinois!
