Here’s a little preview from my first family session of 2011. Seriously, I never get tired of photographing adorable kids. Especially those with an appreciation for modern art (: Mark gave me and his family a nice tour of the Modern Wing at the Art Institute last weekend.

And I had to add this one of the family, complete with aunt and grandmother. Can’t you just tell he is one very loved little kid?!

Yes. This teen’s birthday party was a fun as it looks. Mom asked me to set up the photo booth, in addition to doing some candids of the girls. Hosted at Evanston Print and Paper, the girls ate pizza, sang at the top of their lungs, danced like crazy, had makeup makeovers by a professional makeup artist, and screen-printed their own pillowcases, before heading home for a sleepover. Isn’t that the funnest girlie birthday party ever? The evidence is in the pictures, people (:

If you’re interested in having the photo booth bring out the silliness at your next party, just let me know!

I love photographing families in their homes – seems to help relax everyone and makes for beautiful, authentic images. Little miss Frankie showed me around… Christmas tree, stockings, her lovely nursery, and the snowy balcony. The cutest hostess ever. Words cannot even express how adorable and sweet Frankie is. I could have photographed her and those beautiful blue eyes all day long.

These two have grown up so much since I photographed them last year. Pretty sure Liam will be POTUS when he’s old enough (he wears a tie EVERY.DAY – seven days a week!!). I think I could have spent the entire day having serious conversations and hunting for purple flowers with them. They were so cute, sometimes I had to remind myself that I was there to photograph them, and not for a play date.

Already looking forward to photographing them next year (:

Meet Patrick. He showed me around his cute nursery and then took me on a little outdoor adventure at the grounds of the Lincoln Park Conservatory. How can I not love a job that allows me to get outside and enjoy these beautiful sunny days we’ve been having, while hanging out with some of the cutest kids and nicest families around?!

Earlier this week I met up with these cuties at Buckingham Fountain. This was my third time photographing Dominic, and my second photographing Madeline. We always end up at the best Chicago-y locations for their sessions. I couldn’t believe how much they had both grown since their last session. Still as cute as ever, though, don’t you think?

Have a great weekend!!

I met up with Nicole at Humboldt Park last week for an OpLove session with daughter Jessica. We embraced the beautiful sunshine and scenery and ended up with some great images to send to Dad to enjoy while he’s deployed overseas. It was a joy to work with Nicole & Jessica and an honor to give a tiny bit back to this family (: I’ll be putting more from this session on the city|view Facebook page later today.

…or was it three? We’ve been trying to get this fun family photographed since MAY! On our first attempt we were interrupted by heavy rain about 20 minutes into it. Then there was at least one other attempt that had to be rescheduled because of rain before it even got started. Third times a charm, though. And honestly, I’m sort of glad we had to wait because when I showed up last weekend, Quinn was walking!! He had just taken his first steps a few days before. It was so cute to see him wobbling around and his parents and big sis, Lillie, were so excited. So, thanks Mom & Dad Sullivan for your patience (: I had such a great time with your stylish little family!

Do you think it’s possible I wore these guys out?! Usually it’s the other way around. Alas, Mom saved the day with granola bars and we got right back to work. It was a beautiful weekend in the North Shore to climb, swing, save the world, and take a short walk to a peaceful, tucked-away little neighborhood park. And lucky me got to spend it with the fun and adorable Berghoff family. There is no shortage of personality here! And I can’t forget the family dog, Guinness, who I totally fell in love with the second I arrived. Seriously, I think they were getting worried that I was going to try to dog-nap her (:

I love when a family session turns into a FAMILY session, complete with cousins and aunts and playing in the lake. Ruby set up this session with her family and her siblings’ families for an early morning at North Avenue Beach. I think we all had a good time (:
