Finally finishing up this OpLove session and getting caught up from the Thanksgiving holiday. Hope yours was wonderful (:

Is this the cutest couple you’ve ever seen or what?! Newly engaged and totally smitten with each other. I was honored to capture some memories before deployment will separate Ashley and G for much too long. Many thanks for your service. I still think they could have waited until after the holidays ;)

Downtown Chicago is gorgeous. Its architecture and landscape and situation right on Lake Michigan make for some excellent photos. But those of us who live here know that you find the true Chicago in its neighborhoods. And I LOVE when a session turns into a neighborhood exploration. Especially when my tour guides are so fun and energetic. I met Jake and Sheila at their place, where we were entertained by their dog, Roo, for a bit. Then we headed out to explore their neighborhood, Edgewater, which I promptly fell in love with. These two have so much fun together – I had a difficult time choosing which images to post here!

You can see more photos from Jake and Sheila’s session at the city|view Facebook page!

I love when a family session turns into a FAMILY session, complete with cousins and aunts and playing in the lake. Ruby set up this session with her family and her siblings’ families for an early morning at North Avenue Beach. I think we all had a good time (:

Any session that begins with opening a bottle of wine is guaranteed to be a good one. Add a beautiful couple and a gorgeous home and, well, my job is almost too easy! Bob and Melissa were so happy and comfortable with each other, and I loved how they played word games while I was snapping away. It definitely added a naturalness to their interactions that is sometimes difficult to achieve while someone is taking your picture (: I am definitely adding that little game to my arsenal for future use.

I’ll be traveling to Georgia this summer, so if you are interested in a session send me an email to: anna (at) cityviewphoto (dot) com. I will be there beginning July 17th and staying at least a week, both on the coast and in NE Georgia.

Looking forward to seeing y’all!

As you can tell, I haven’t been taking the time to blog much lately… I guess I will blame that on the weather, like I do everything else (: But today it’s rainy and chilly, so being in the office sounds like a pleasant way to spend the day. Aren’t AJ and Mark the sweetest? We spent a fun evening at the Museum Campus, and I’m excited to share more images from their session with you… later this week!

I had a lot of fun doing engagement photos for Taylor & Kyle, so I was thrilled when Taylor asked me to design their save-the-date postcards using one of the images from their session. And now the cat is out of the bag – I do custom designs upon request! Let me know if your interested in hearing more about my graphic design services… including logos, save-the-dates and other cards, etc…

This particular design is a 5.5×4 postcard so it’s easier and cheaper to mail, and is more environmentally friendly (no envelope!).

How could I not enjoy traipsing around downtown Chicago with a couple in love? Marci and Chris were awesome to photograph and they had so much fun together – the true sign of lasting love, in my opinion! They had no problem pretending I wasn’t there with a camera in their faces, which made it easy to capture some lovely moments. Enjoy (:
