Here’s a little preview from my first family session of 2011. Seriously, I never get tired of photographing adorable kids. Especially those with an appreciation for modern art (: Mark gave me and his family a nice tour of the Modern Wing at the Art Institute last weekend.

And I had to add this one of the family, complete with aunt and grandmother. Can’t you just tell he is one very loved little kid?!

This weekend I went to the Art Institute (one of my favorite Chicago places – wish I could have renewed my membership this year!). The first thing I saw when I walked in was the exhibit Public Notice 3 by Jitish Kallat. I thought it was cool and very well done. A nice juxtaposition with the traditional grand staircase. Go see it! It’s a nice indoor activity (and the museum is free on weekdays through February 4th!).

Yes. This teen’s birthday party was a fun as it looks. Mom asked me to set up the photo booth, in addition to doing some candids of the girls. Hosted at Evanston Print and Paper, the girls ate pizza, sang at the top of their lungs, danced like crazy, had makeup makeovers by a professional makeup artist, and screen-printed their own pillowcases, before heading home for a sleepover. Isn’t that the funnest girlie birthday party ever? The evidence is in the pictures, people (:

If you’re interested in having the photo booth bring out the silliness at your next party, just let me know!

Happy 2011!! After a lovely, relaxing holiday, J and I ended up in Rome last week. My mind has still not completely absorbed all that I saw and learned. It was the perfect beginning to the new year, and I thought it would also be the perfect way to kick off the blog in 2011 (:

If you want to see (many) more photos from my trip, you can find them in this Flickr set. Enjoy!
