Hello and good evening!
In honor of the six more weeks of winter (5 weeks and 6 days, but who’s counting?) we have to look forward to, I have decided to have a contest. I’m in the mood to give away a portrait session – are you in the mood to win one? If so, simply leave a comment in this post by 5p.m. tomorrow (Thurs., February 4, 2010). On Friday a number will be picked at random and that number post will win.

~ Winner must live in or be traveling to the Chicagoland area for the session (suburbs work!)

[The beautiful family featured in this post is that of my friend Amanda whom I’ve known since high school. I had the honor of photographing them again over Thanksgiving holiday, but in the hectic-ness that was Sept – Dec., they did not get a blog post. Don’t you think they deserve one?! ]

Over the Thanksgiving break J and I traveled to Georgia and South Carolina to visit family, and I had my third annual day of photo sessions in Hartwell. I love doing these sessions – it’s always a fun and fast whirlwind of a day, and I ALWAYS end up with beautiful images of beautiful families. Here’s the first preview from this year’s sessions: the Martin Family!

And last, but certainly not least…. meet Madeline!! When I photographed Madeline last year, she was under the weather, so I spent some time with a beautiful, quiet little girl. This year, she was a lot taller, feeling a lot better, and a LOT more active. We had so much fun chasing her around during her session… I think she totally wore J out!
She certainly is a special little girl – totally captured our hearts (:
This year’s Hartwell sessions came with a first for me… photographing four brothers, all of whom are in college!! I’m used to working with young children, so let’s just say it was a pleasant break in the day to work with “kids” who did everything I asked. I admit I got a few odd looks, but they were great fun (:

If I recall correctly, we got Ryleigh and Cooper in just before the rain started! I had a hard time deciding which images of these two to post on the blog… I decided on this one that shows off Ryleigh’s gorgeous smile and fun personality…
And this one that showed off Cooper’s gorgeous eyes (and just a glimpse of his wide range of facial expressions!)…
Not only is this a lovely family, but they are super troopers!! They stuck it out through the cold and the rain and I think we ended up with some fabulous images… what do you think?!
