Alla needed some headshots for a business and website she’s starting soon. Love helping small businesses get going (:

With the warm, sunshiny goodness that Chicago has been enjoying lately, surely you can forgive me for neglecting my blogging duties? Earlier this week, Amanda and I spent a little time at Diversey Harbor enjoying the views and the boats and the general loveliness of the day. I admit that shooting portraits in full sun makes me a little hesitant, but this time I decided to just embrace the dappled lighting and general… well, brightness. I think it went quite well. What do you think?

See more images from this session on the city|view photography Facebook page. And become a fan while you’re there!

I’ll be traveling to Georgia this summer, so if you are interested in a session send me an email to: anna (at) cityviewphoto (dot) com. I will be there beginning July 17th and staying at least a week, both on the coast and in NE Georgia.

Looking forward to seeing y’all!

Beautiful sisters! These gals and their family (you will meet them later!) braved a chilly, windy day for their photo session and I think it was worth it. I’m jealous! I may have to talk my sister into having some photos taken of the two of us when I’m down her way this summer (:

I am completely blown away by the comments I’m getting and the response from Jessica’s post on How About Orange? .

Oh, how I wish I could give everyone a free session!! Alas, my accountant probably wouldn’t accept “But, they’re all so wonderful!!” as a proper justification (:

To show my gratitude, I am offering all of you lovely How About Orange? readers a discount on portrait sessions. Simply mention How About Orange? and you will get $50 off of your session fee!!

Please feel free to email me with questions, or to schedule your session:

You have made my day (: Oh, and there is still time to enter the contest, so do that. And tune in tomorrow to find out if you won a free portrait session!

Hello and good evening!

In honor of the six more weeks of winter (5 weeks and 6 days, but who’s counting?) we have to look forward to, I have decided to have a contest. I’m in the mood to give away a portrait session – are you in the mood to win one? If so, simply leave a comment in this post by 5p.m. tomorrow (Thurs., February 4, 2010). On Friday a number will be picked at random and that number post will win.

Easy peasy, right?

The most important details are these:

~ Winner must live in or be traveling to the Chicagoland area for the session (suburbs work!)
~ The session must take place on or before April 30, 2010 at a mutually convenient time

Start commenting – I can’t wait to hear what you have to say!!

[The beautiful family featured in this post is that of my friend Amanda whom I’ve known since high school. I had the honor of photographing them again over Thanksgiving holiday, but in the hectic-ness that was Sept – Dec., they did not get a blog post. Don’t you think they deserve one?! ]

Mike, his fiance, and I had an adventurous afternoon headshot session at St. Luke’s last week. Mike is an up-and-coming actor (a former high school English teacher, so I’m sure he’s good at improv!).

Look for him on a big screen near you!

Wednesday I had the pleasure of photographing Jessica, of How about orange… fame. I’m a faithful reader of her blog, so it was fun to meet her in person.

She is lovely, and fun, and was a good sport as we explored St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Logan Square (my new favorite location for indoor sessions, btw).

Jessica, your full gallery will be ready very soon (:

Okay, so this session obviously wasn’t all about headshots, but that’s the category it best fits (: This lovely lady is running for a judge seat in the February election. Smart, enthusiastic, and sincere – a great combination if you ask me. So, as they say, vote early and vote often! Moreso the former than the latter, please.

Keep your eyes peeled – you may just see a photo of Nichole, taken by yours truly, on a billboard during your morning commute (:

Enjoy, and have a happy Halloween weekend!
